Wendy King

Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2013. She completed an Advanced Airway fellowship in 2012, and her clinical interests include anaesthesia for Head & Neck oncology, Obstetrics, and patient safety.

Awarded the 2012 DAS Project Grant through the NIAA to undertake a bench study comparing the new VBM Surgicric cricothyrotomy kit with two established emergency tracheal access devices in a porcine model.

Led the development of Enhanced Recovery for Head & Neck free flap patients, demonstrating a reduction in morbidity as well as a fall in median length of stay from 14 to 10 days.

Simulation Lead, responsible for Simulation Fellow, and organising local and regional courses for anaesthetic trainees. Teaches regularly on Airway workshops for the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
